First Time: Today I ate a tomato like an apple. It reminded me of a creepy scene from that cult movie “The Last Supper,” but was delicious all the same.

I see beauty everywhere. I saw it before the trash bag scene in that movie. It often overwhelms me to the point of tears, whether stemming from joy or sorrow. Ryan tells me I "have a soft heart." Hopefully this is a strength, not a weakness.

Piece of Peace
After two years of silence, I extended an olive branch last night via voicemail. “Congratulations,” I said. “I wish you all the happiness in the world.” The reply text message said my words were a blessing, that God is a miracle-worker, that I am invited to the wedding.
Things might not be restored to their original state of grace. Still, there is enough beauty in this piece of peace to smooth rough edges.
